An inventor and entrepreneur whose work has transformed cancer screening, Stan has dedicated his career to advancing early detection and saving lives. He founded two of the most successful companies in the diagnostics industry. Cytyc Corporation modernized cervical cancer screening with its ThinPrep Pap Test. Exact Sciences revolutionized colorectal cancer screening through its Cologuard test.
Stan holds 37 U.S. patents and was elected a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering for his pioneering work in the early detection of cancer. He spent more than 15 years inspiring future innovators as an instructor at MIT.
Most recently, Forbes recognized Stan as one of America’s Top 250 Greatest Innovators, honoring the life-saving impact of Cologuard. Learn more here!
Stan has also been a longtime partner of the American Cancer Society, collaborating with ACS researchers and utilizing ACS data to help advance breakthroughs in cancer detection. Through BrightEdge, the American Cancer Society’s impact investment and venture philanthropy program, he has also helped support the next generation of innovations that will shape the future of cancer research and early detection.
