Rob is a native Iowan who has focused his career on these three elements in higher education. He has spent the last several years helping large, complex universities in Illinois, Washington, and Colorado solve 21st century problems with creativity and innovation. Rob has spent most of his time helping new college students and their families navigate new university communities in a way that will maximize their learning and growth. He is a university administrator, instructor, and fundraiser currently working at the University of Colorado Boulder.
In terms of personal time, Rob enjoys the city. If there is a festival happening nearby, he is probably attending. He and his wife enjoy engaging in the greater Denver community festivals, food, art, and music. He makes an effort to be engaged in his community, just as he preaches to students. Rob is a novice homebrewer, emphasis on novice, and since living in Washington state for a stint of time, loves to learn about wine. In addition, he is a college and professional sports fan who appreciates all of the opportunities to see quality sporting events in Denver. Being an educator at heart, he makes an effort to stretch outside of his comfort zone to learn more about the world around him.
This is Rob’s first year of involvement with the American Cancer Society Gala. He was inspired to be a part of the team because of a good friend, the impact cancer has had on his immediate family, and the desire to be an engaged member of the Denver Community. He is amazed by the generosity of donors when it comes to fighting cancer.
